How to delete your account

Option 1 — In the app (immediate): Settings → Account → Delete Account → confirm. You may be asked to sign in again for security.

Option 2 — By email: email privacy@flyconnect.co with subject “Account deletion request” and the email/phone on your account. Verified requests handled within 30 days.

What data is deleted

Profile (name, email, phone, airline, position, bio, photo) · saved posts · blocked list · followers/following · trip/passport history · Firebase Auth identity · push token & device IDs · uploaded photos.

What is retained, and why

• Posts you authored are anonymized, not deleted — shown as “[deleted user]” with your name/photo detached, to preserve others’ replies and likes. Delete specific posts first if you want them fully gone.

• Messages you sent may remain visible to other chat participants, detached from your profile.

• Encrypted backups may hold data up to 30 days, then purged.

• Limited records retained only where legally required.

We do not retain your data for advertising or sell it.

Timeline

Immediate (in-app) / ≤30 days (email) → profile + identity gone, posts anonymized · ≤30 days → backups purged · longer only if legally required.
